It’s fun to buy pint-sized furniture designed to be at the perfect height for youngsters and toddlers, but before you head out shopping, make sure that the furniture you’re buying is safe for your child to use. There are more accident waiting to happen than many parents realize, and even furniture for kids can have its drawbacks. Here are some things to look for when considering which furniture for your child is best to buy:
Choose wood over plastic. Plastic furniture isn’t going to last through rough play over the years or withstand the test of time. Kids are hard on their furniture. Not only that, while molded plastic may seem a good way to go for the budget conscious parent, plastic furniture tends to fade and doesn’t clean well. Colors are often aimed at narrow age groups and are decorated with stickers that peel off, leaving a blemished, worn look. Also, certain plastic items don’t have good stability, such as cheap plastic chairs that tip over easily. Wood offers a sturdier alternative that is easy to clean and care for, as well as being attractive to children of all ages.

If you choose furniture that has larger size than the size of the room?s space, that probably make your room look jumble and not convenient in case you want to walk within the room. On the other hand, if the size of furniture is too small, that will make the room have too much space left. There is a very simple way on how to know the size of furniture that fit to the room. When you are buying furniture, measure the size of the furniture from edge to edge, then re-calculate the size f furniture to correspond to the scale of the room plan. Then you will have to furniture size that you can estimate on how and where to put them in the room. The other benefit of doing this way is you can imitate and arrange layout of furniture with the room as many time as you can until you satisfy.
However, please be aware that the function of use of furniture is also important, for example, if you want to put a cushion in the room, does not forget to spare little space for stretching knees and legs too.

A hammock makes an unusual but welcome gift. If you’re stuck for present ideas for a loved one who appears to already have everything, then a colorful hand woven Mayan hammock or traditional rope hammock could be the answer. Hammocks are synonymous with lazy hot sunny days and anyone who receives a hammock at Christmas is sure to be impatient for summer to arrive so they can kick back and unwind in their new gift.
It’s no wonder hammocks are associated with a gentler pace of life. A hammock is a most comfortable place to relax and enjoy the sunshine, take a nap, or get stuck into a good book. Many people actually use their hammock as a bed! Hammocks can be hung from posts, beams or tree branches, or alternatively a purpose built portable hammock stand gives you the freedom to set up your hammock wherever the mood takes you - be that under a shady tree, on a sunny patio or within easy reach of the pool or beach.
If your loved one lives in a small apartment with little or no outside space, then a hammock chair would be a great gift for them. Hammock chairs or swings are based on the same design principle as hammocks, but provide a cozy seat in which to sit or curl up rather than lie. They come in various sizes, from small single chairs to those that can snuggly accommodate two. A hammock swing chair can easily be hung in any small space, either inside from a ceiling joist or beam, on a portable stand on a deck or patio, or from a convenient tree branch.

We take some things for granted in life. Take breathing for instance. It is the most vital function that keeps us alive; in fact, it is the sign that we are alive! Yet, breathing happens so automatically that we rarely are ‘aware’ of it, until we come across an article like this that reminds us that breathing the right way is important for good health.

Yet, breathing happens so automatically that we rarely are ‘aware’ of it, until we come across an article like this that reminds us that breathing the right way is important for good health.
Let us discuss another human activity that you are involved in 90% of our waking time and yet know so little about - sitting. You sit at the breakfast table, in the car, and then again at work in our office chairs. You come back in the evening to sit or slouch before the TV. With so much of sitting around, it is quite right to make sure that we are sitting right!
